A Better Start Southend

The Brief
A Better Start wanted a campaign of social media videos to inform parents of children up to 4 years on how to communicate with their child through reading, singing, chatting and playing. The Challenge? Filming young children who have short attention spans!
Concept, Production & Delivery
Within pre-production for these films, we decided with A Better Start on a good strategy for delivering the video content. They wanted to videos to feel easy to understand, not too long and would easily fit into their target audiences life. We decided to make 4 films around the different age groups of the children, offering a range of tips that would be easy for parents to fit into their routines. We also agreed that having these film delivered in vertical viewing for social media feeds would be the best way to engage the audience. A Better Start wanted to make sure that parents didn’t feel like they were being told what to do, so we opted for casting real life parents to demonstrate the communication techniques. We had our scripts checked by an expert, and also made sure they were on hand when filming to make sure everything was demonstrated correctly. We backed up the demonstrations by having our expert introduce the films, and narrate throughout, to ensure the audience felt like it was from a reputable source. In post production, we used the colour palette of the brand to create some fun and engagement graphics which tie in each of the demonstrations.
The Outcome
A video campaign of 4 films which will have a legacy and life to inform parents for years to come.
